Many people suffer from various skin problems. One of them is Foot Corns. Foot corns are thick layers of skin, found mostly on the pressure bearing area of the sole. Corns are generally formed on or between the toes. These are very painful when pressed. Skin surrounding corns become red and inflamed. One can use Pumice stone, Lanolin lotion as foot corn remover.
Types of Corns:
Hard corns: These are mostly found on the top, tip or on the side of toes where constant pressure is applied. These are painful.
Soft Corn: Soft corns are found in between toes. These are very painful when compared to hard corns.
Treatment for foot corn:
The most common treatment for foot corn includes:
- Corns can be shaved so that the pressure on the corns can be avoided.
- Soft corns should be diagnosed with the doctor. Wearing friction less shoes may help to reduce corns to some extent.
- Mixture of salicylic acid, lactic acids and, collodion is one of the best foot corn remover.
- Medicated pads and ointments can be used.
Home remedies for foot corn:
Primary home remedies for foot corn are:
- The best treatment one can do for corns is avoiding pressure.
- Pumice stone can be used as a foot corn remover, by rubbing it on the corns one can file down them.
- Soak feet in the lukewarm water and epsom salt for at least five minutes and three times a day.
- Applying Lanolin lotion on the corns.
- Avoid high heel footwear.
- Wear toe coverings like moleskin pads, tufts of lamb’s wool.
Sometimes doctors suggest to undergo for surgery when foot corns cannot be treated with medications. Removing foot corns with non prescribed medications may damage the skin and even infect the healthy areas of the skin.
