Foot skin peeling can be caused due an infection, skin diseases, medications, exposure to chemicals. Excessive perspiration can also lead to skin peeling. This is often caused when the foot moisture is blocked by the shoes. Sunburn can also damage the upper layers of skin and result in peeling.

Exposure of the foot to strong chemicals, soaps or excessive moisture can cause skin peeling. Proper care of the foot through miniaturization and a well-balanced diet can help in preventing skin peeling.

To prevent peeling skin on foot, make sure you do not expose your feet to water for long periods of time. If you have sweaty feet, wear shoes which allow air and wear cotton socks. Using foot powder can also cut down the perspiration of the foot.

Foot skin peeling can also be caused due to fungal infection, psoriasis, or other conditions. Hence, it is better to consult a dermatologist if your skin peeling does not resolve. Your doctor may prescribe you a corticosteroids, or anti-fungal/anti-bacterial medications to get rid of the peeling of skin
