People often buy shoes just because they look good , but they neglect the comfort aspect of it. Wearing uncomfortable shoes can result in pain, cramps and may damage the feet too. Hence, if you have uncomfortable shoes, it is better to buy new ones. If your shoe is worn out, it is time to quickly replace it with a new one.
Identify By Drawing An Outline:
Stand barefoot and trace the outline of feet on a piece of paper. Now place your shoe on the paper over the outline of your feet. If the outline on the paper extends beyond your shoe, it indicates your shoes are uncomfortable and your feet are bearing unnecessary pressure.
Identify By Checking the Toe Box:
There should enough space in front of the toes to wiggle your toes. When you stand up, there should be 0.4 to 0.5 inch space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. Less space in the toe box can result in pain and cramps while wearing the shoes.
Identify By Checking the Heel :
The heel of the shoe should not slip up and down while walking. The heel should be wide and should contain proper cushioning. Heels which are about 0.5 inches high are ideal as they help you to maintain proper posture.
The shoes should have proper cushioning, as they can absorb the shock while running and walking. They should not be too tight. Sometimes we may think the shoe will stretch gradually, but a shoe which is too tight is less likely to stretch to a comfortable size.
Old shoes also need replacement every 3 months. This is because wear and tear can affect the shoe’s cushioning and it may become uncomfortable to wear.
If you find your shoe is uncomfortable, make sure you replace it with a comfortable new shoe. Also remember, always shop in the evenings as your feet would be larger.
