Gout is characterized as the most painful type of arthritis.gout attack is usually due increase in uric acid. High purine food increases the level of uric acid as well as weight of body. therefore patients must take low purine diet like milk products, green vegeies, soups etc and avoid high protein diet like mutton , fishes etc.
Diet For Gout Patients:
The diet for gout patients can be summarized in following points:
- Food which is rich in purine might be avoided such as fish and meat. Only low purine foods must be included in your diet.
- Some of the recommended food items include white bread, cakes, tropioca, flour, pasta, cornflakes.
- Eggs, cheese, milk and other dairy products are also recommended.
- Healthy vegetables like green veggies, lettuce, tomatoes are must included ones.
- Mushrooms, cauliflower, asparagus, oatmeal, spinach, any of beans are to be avoided.
- Vegetable soups, sugar, sweets, peanut butter, and fruits are highly required in your diet plan.
- Tea, coffee, cocoa, soda can be easily taken.
- Intake of fluid must be increased.

- Milk Products: Can be taken in good quantity as they have low purine content.

- Fruits: They are the most required ingredients. so, their intake should be there in good quantity.
Low Purine Diet:
Low purine diet is required by the patients of gout as it decreases the production of uric acid in them. So, they have less chance of gout attack. Food items like meat, fishes produce a lot of uric acid. Excess of uric acid increases weight an d increases the chance of gout attack too.
