Our day-to-day activities can make our feet rough and dirty. Calluses can also grow on the feet resulting in discomfort. A foot file, which is specifically designed to file the feet, can be used to get rid of dirt, dead skin and calluses.
Metal files, emery files, glass files, plastic files are some of the files available. Foot file usually has a rough side and a fine side. The rough side is used to remove thick skin, calluses etc and the fine side can be used to smoothen the foot.
How to Use A Foot File?
The following are the steps to use a foot file:
- Soak: Soak your feet in warm water to soften the skin. You can use Epsom salts and essential oils such as olive oil in the warm water
- File: After soaking for 15 minutes, start filing your feet using brisk motions . Use the rough side of the file and slide it against the balls of the feet, bottom of the toes and the heel. This will help in removal of the thick, calloused skin of your foot. Now use the fine side of the file to soften the feet. Make sure you maintain even pressure while filing
- Moisturize: After filing, use a moisturizer or oil to massage your feet. This will relax your feet and increase the blood circulation
Regular use of a foot file will help you to keep your feet smooth and free from over sized calluses. Foot filing and moisturizing will also help in getting rid of the cracks of your feet. Foot file is useful for proper foot care and make sure you use it regularly to have smooth and beautiful feet
