According to the Foot Health Foundation, close to 20 percent of the U.S. population has more than one-foot problem each year. Therefore it is important to take proper care of your feet in order to avoid any foot problems in future.

Here are top 7 tips that would ensure you healthy and happy feet.

  1. Clean regularly within the space between your toes. Immediately after you shower, take a thin tissue paper and wipe the space between your toes. Wetness in between toes can lead to fungal infections.
  2. Stretch your feet regularly as a part of an exercise regimen.
  3. Use inserts in shoes to provide arch support and cushion the feet.
  4. Avoid wearing nail-polish always. Let your nails breathe. If they are always covered with nail-polish they will risk becoming brittle and infected by fungi.
  5. When you buy a pair of shoes, make sure there is enough room for your toes to move without rubbing each other.
  6. Buy socks that are polyester blends. These socks pull the sweat away from the foot and help keep feet dry. Cotton socks trap the wetness on your feet.
  7. Wash your feet regularly, dry thoroughly and use a good moisturizer to keep the skin healthy.
