According to the Foot Health Foundation, close to 20 percent of the U.S. population has more than one-foot problem each year. Therefore it is important to take proper care of your feet in order to avoid any foot problems in future.
Here are top 7 tips that would ensure you healthy and happy feet.
- Clean regularly within the space between your toes. Immediately after you shower, take a thin tissue paper and wipe the space between your toes. Wetness in between toes can lead to fungal infections.
- Stretch your feet regularly as a part of an exercise regimen.
- Use inserts in shoes to provide arch support and cushion the feet.
- Avoid wearing nail-polish always. Let your nails breathe. If they are always covered with nail-polish they will risk becoming brittle and infected by fungi.
- When you buy a pair of shoes, make sure there is enough room for your toes to move without rubbing each other.
- Buy socks that are polyester blends. These socks pull the sweat away from the foot and help keep feet dry. Cotton socks trap the wetness on your feet.
- Wash your feet regularly, dry thoroughly and use a good moisturizer to keep the skin healthy.
