One must take care of one’s feet by keeping them clean and pain free. One must not neglect a painful joint or walk in a manner that the feet are subjected to pain. We need to take care of our feet well as we need to be active and move around comfortably.
Tips to Take Care of Your Feet the Natural Way
- Ensure that that they are no calluses. Use a pumice stone or an abrasive foot scrub to remove the dead and rough skin. Otherwise the skin will become hard and rough and it will cause pain. You will not be able to walk
- Have a footbath, by placing marbles in the bath water and rolling your feet on them for nerve stimulation. Pick the marbles with your toes, flex and contract your feet and then let go of the marbles. This will allow the arches and muscles of the feet to stretch.
- Have a foot massage. It is extremely relaxing.
- Due to lack of oil glands on the skin, use a good moisturizer every day. Put on a generous amount of cream and wear cotton socks. Leave them over night.
- Get your feet measured standing, not sitting while purchasing shoes. The shape of your feet changes, as you grow older.
- Replace shoes every six months, as the old shoes cannot give the required support to the feet.
- Choose footwear of natural materials, so that your feet can breathe properly
- Change socks at least once a day. Choose socks that are 70 percent wool or cotton.
- Calf stretches help the feet to remain supple.
- Heel heights should be within comfortable range if you are using them on a daily basis.
- Consult a podiatric for exercises
The feet need to be taken good care of. They should not be neglected at any cost. They have to bear your body weight and help you to move around. One can make that extra effort to take care of them on your own.
