Home remedies for stinky feet: Are you worried about your stinky feet? Did you ever feel embarrassed because you took your shoes off in front of others and a foul smell erupted? These are very common experiences we face due to stinky feet. Have you ever mulled over why do the feet smell?
Our feet stink due to the attack of bacteria. These creatures feast on the dead cell and skin of our body and love to dwell in dark, damp and wet places. Thus, the more your feet perspire the more they become habitable for bacteria. These bacteria multiply in sweat. Their family grows and they produce waste in the form of organic acids. It is these organic acids which are behind the feet odor.
However, some people’s feet smell more than others. It is because their feet sweat more. Due to the excessive sweat a bacteria called Micrococcus sedentarius form in their feet. This bacteria produces volatile sulphur compounds along with organic acids. The sulphur compounds have a strong and awful smell and these are the reason behind those foul odor feet.
If you are also suffering from stinky feet problem, follow these tips. These will help you get rid of the bad odor of your feet and you’ll no more be embarrassed in front of anybody. Below is some of the home remedies for stinky feet:
- Keep your feet clean. Bathe your feet everyday. You can even soak your feet in water. Do not forget to dry your feet properly after washing.
- Wash your shoes and insoles. Some shoes and insoles are washable. So it’s better to use those things and wash them regularly. This way you can get rid of your smelly feet.
- Avoid shoes made of plastic. Plastic shoes do not let the skin of your feet come in touch with the air. The feet cannot breath and they acquire a foul smell.
- Try avoiding tight shoes. If your shoes are too tight the feet will sweat more.
- Do not use the same shoes everyday. Wearing the same shoes everyday make them smelly. Wear shoes alternately.
- Let your feet come in touch with air. The more your feet breathe the less will they smell. So be barefoot for a considerable time, especially at night.
- Use disinfectant sprays on your feet. You can also wash your feet with anti-bacterial soap.
- Use socks made of cotton. Some wools and special kind of knits made for athletes are also good. These kinds of socks absorb the sweat of your feet. Less sweating will ensure less smell.
