Ten Tips for Foot Massage

Here are some simple tips to give a great foot massage

Step 1 – Soak your feet for about 10-15 minutes in lukewarm water with a few drops of peppermint or lavender oil.

Step 2 – Wipe the feet clean and make the person lie down on a bed or a massage table for your convenience. Take some oil or cream in your fingers.

Step 3 – Stroke the foot from the cords towards the fingers, first gently then gradually increasing the pressure.

Step 4 – Massage in circular motion using your fingers and your thumb on the sole of the foot. Use a little extra pressure while massaging on the heel, football and the outline of the foot.

Step 5 – Hold the foot with one of your hands and gently rotate the foot using your other hand. Start  with the ankle, then go to the ball. Repeat the rotation atleast 5 times in each direction.

Step 6 – Hold the foot with one of your hands and gently knead the sole with your fists giving pressure into the sole through the arch.

Step 7 – Roll and slide your fingers between the toes of the feet. Squeeze each toe gently.

Step 8 – Again massage the sole in circular motion using your thumbs and fingers.

Step 9 – Repeat the process for the other foot.

Step 10 – Wipe off the excess oil or cream.
