Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

Posted on August 6, 2007 in Foot Problems

Do you feel numbness in your foot. Does it feel like radiating to your big toe and the first three toes? Do you experience pain and burning, electrical sensations on the base of your foot and your heel? Do your feet appear to be swollen?

Beware! That can be Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. The name might sound complicated though but the idea behind it is simple and the pain, terrible.

There is a nerve called tibial nerve that is located behind the inside ankle bone. When the tibial nerve gets entrapped in a tunnel formed by the bone and a fibrous band called the tarsal tunnel, you suffer from the Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome.
